Thank you to all of our coaches, players and families for making the 2016 season a great success. Once again, our Presidio and SDDA teams were very competitive while still having fun and fostering a family friendly environment. Three (3) teams were champions in their divisions while another five (5) teams were runners-up or third place finishers. That is an impressive one-third of our 24 teams finishing in the top three spots in their divisions. Congratulations to those teams.
2nd & 3rd Place Finishers
B2006 Green – Elders
B2004 Green – Rios
G2002 - Elders
B2008/09 White – Belisario
B2004 White – Harte
G2004 Green – Munoz
G2003 – Houshmandi
G1998 - Abril
We had five (5) teams compete in the Presidio Cup recently with four (4) of those teams becoming champions or runners-up. Our B2008/09 White team and B2003 Green team were champions. Our B2006 Green team and G2006 team were runners-up.
We are looking forward to continued success in the future.

NEW* US Soccer Player Development Initiatives
Small-Sided Standards & Birth Year Registration Changes
Revolution Families: U.S. Soccer, the governing body that U.S. Youth Soccer, CalSouth and San Marcos Revolution, are sanctioned by and affiliated with, has established new player development initiatives which feature new standards related to birth-year registration and small-sided games. U.S. Soccer recommends putting these initiatives into place as a best practice beginning in August of 2016, as they will be mandated in August of 2017. Many of you have already seen or heard information related to these initiatives.
The administrative and technical leadership members of our club have been holding and attending meetings regarding these initiatives. We attended the SDDA Director of Coaching (D.O.C.) meeting on October 12th and the General Presidio meeting on October 20th. During these meetings, updates on the initiatives were provided by CalSouth representatives based on internal CalSouth Board meetings as well as open discussion forums held by CalSouth. Below is a summary of the initiatives, what we know at this time and frequently asked questions. We will continue to monitor outstanding items and provide updates to you as soon as we have new information.
Birth Year Registration Initiative
CalSouth has voted to make the Birth Year Registration mandatory starting with the 2016/2107 season, which is the upcoming season. Currently, teams are composed of players with multiple birth years based on the August 1st to July 31st birthdate requirements. Starting next year, the ... READ MORE
Revolution Soccer is…
North County's fastest growing competitive soccer program. We are a locally managed program that puts the best interest of the children first.
We strive to grow Revolution Soccer from within our own recreation program, San Marcos Youth Soccer (SMYS), and to develop each team as a unit from one season to the next.
Our Goal is to be the competitive soccer program of choice for the families of San Marcos. We plan on accomplishing this goal by providing:
And by promoting:
We believe that players become better by playing and not by sitting on the bench. We do not take on players to fill a roster or to help subsidize star players. Instead, our policy is that every player that is selected to a team shall get a minimum of 50% playing time throughout the course of the season. This is achieved by careful selection at tryouts and ensuring that every player receives the best training possible.
